Biography

Thuc Vu is a Venture Partner at Do Ventures. He is a serial entrepreneur and a world-class scientist with extensive experiences in Silicon Valley and Vietnam. A seasoned expert in Artificial Intelligence and Algorithms, he is the CEO and co-founder of OhmniLabs, a company that creates affordable home telepresence robots to connect distant families and improve life quality. Previously, he founded a number of tech companies, notably Katango and Tappy, which were acquired by Google and Weeby.co. He serves as a Research Scientist and Assistant Professor at Jon von Neumann Institute (Vietnam) and co-founded VietSeeds Foundation. Thuc also advises a number of startups and connects them with resources in the Bay Area and Vietnam. At Do Ventures, Thuc is responsible for sourcing deals from Vietnamese communities in the US and other countries. With his deep expertise in computer science, he is also in charge of providing technology support for portfolio companies. In 2017, Thuc was nominated as one of the most 40 influential people under 40 years old in Silicon Valley by the Silicon Valley Business Journal. He earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University (USA) and a Bachelor of Science from Carnegie Mellon (USA), both in computer science.
